They are a form of bacteria that breed profusely in the right conditions.
What are the right conditions?
- Un-circulated water systmes.
- Water temperatures between 20-45 degrees Celsius.
- Food sludge/dirt tanks, calcified outlets, unsealed header tanks, over-size header tanks, the list is endless.
When you read the notes above, are they visible a property that you let or lease? If the answer is yes, then give us a call and ask for a quote to conduct a legionella risk assessment. Whilst this is not compulsory, you still have a duty of care to your tenants or family members.
Who is at higher risk?
- People who suffer from respiratory disease/kidney disease.
- People over the age of 45.
- Smokers and heavy drinkers.
- Persons with an impaired immune system.
- Children.
- People with underlying health conditions not mentioned above.
